CUSTOM SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT / NORTHEAST OHIO

Custom software.
Around your business.

When your process no longer fits a spreadsheet or an off-the-shelf tool, build around the work itself. I design and develop software for your customers, your team, and the systems between them.

WHAT WE CAN BUILD

Practical software for important work.

Start with the process that needs to work better. These are examples of the systems we can scope around it.

01

Customer portals

Give customers a place to manage requests, documents, account information, or bookings, with appropriate permissions and a clear experience.

02

Internal tools & dashboards

Bring quoting, job tracking, approvals, or reporting into a shared workspace your team can rely on.

03

Web products

Build a browser-based application around a service you want to offer, including the interface, account workflows, and backend systems.

04

Connected workflows

Connect existing tools, move information between them, and handle exceptions so a failed sync does not quietly become a business problem.

HOW WE WORK TOGETHER

Understand the work. Then build the system.

You work directly with the engineer making the decisions. We define the useful first scope, review working software, and plan the handoff together.

  1. 01

    Map the current process.

Understand users, data, existing tools, and the steps that are slow, fragile, or missing.

  2. 02

    Agree on the first release.

Define the core workflow, permissions, integrations, responsibilities, and project investment.

  3. 03

    Build and review real behavior.

Review the software as it develops, test important workflows, and address feedback before release.

  4. 04

    Prepare for everyday use.

Agree on data migration, deployment, documentation, training, and any continuing support your scope needs.

EXPERIENCE BEHIND THE OFFER

Experience across the application.

My work spans interfaces, backend services, data, and the decisions that connect them.

Examples from previous employment and freelance roles. Each describes my contribution within the team.

Operation 36 Golf

Led a small agile team across a React and Rails web product, a Swift iOS app, a live dashboard, and PostgreSQL.

Eezy content platform

Led frontend architecture and development, contributed Rails features, and combined engineering with team mentoring and product collaboration.

PLAN THE INVESTMENT

A useful first scope. A clear investment.

A focused internal tool and a customer-facing application are different projects. We price the workflows, data, integrations, and release needs you actually require.

Starting around for a custom web application

$6,000

Internal tools start around $3,000. These are planning starting points; your proposal defines the scope and price.

PRACTICAL QUESTIONS

Before we begin.

How do we know custom software is the right choice?

We compare the workflow with the tools already available. If a suitable existing product solves the problem, that may be the better investment. Custom development becomes useful when the process, user experience, or integrations need something those tools cannot reasonably provide.

Can you work with an existing application?

Yes. We can begin with a system and codebase review, then agree on a focused improvement, integration, or phased modernization. Data migration and continuity for current users are part of that discussion.

What happens to ownership and hosting?

Your proposal defines source-code access, ownership, hosting responsibilities, third-party licenses, and the handoff. We discuss operating costs and continuing support before release so you understand what maintaining the application involves.

Can you help my existing team build it?

Yes. Product & Engineering Consulting can cover architecture, stack selection, team responsibilities, and delivery planning while your team handles implementation. Consulting is also available as a standalone engagement.

Do you work with local businesses?

I’m based in Chagrin Falls and serve Cleveland, Bainbridge Township, and businesses throughout Northeast Ohio. Local meetings can be arranged at a mutually agreed location, and remote collaboration is available.
