MOBILE APP DEVELOPMENT / NORTHEAST OHIO

Mobile app development.
From idea to release.

Build an app around what people need to do on their phones. I help you define the experience, choose a practical platform approach, and develop the application and systems behind it.

CHOOSE THE RIGHT APPROACH

The platform follows the product.

We assess the people using the app, the devices they carry, and the experience the first version needs to deliver.

01

Native iOS

An iPhone or iPad experience using Swift when the product benefits from a platform-specific approach. My previous work includes native iOS development.

02

Cross-platform applications

Evaluate React Native when sharing work across iOS and Android makes sense. The required device features and testing needs guide that decision.

03

Backend & connected systems

Plan accounts, data, payments, notifications, and integrations alongside the app rather than treating them as separate afterthoughts.

04

A focused first release

Choose the essential user journey first. Features such as offline use, location, or device access are included when they support that journey and the agreed scope.

HOW WE WORK TOGETHER

A clear path from concept to a usable app.

An app idea does not need to arrive as a technical specification. We work through the product and platform decisions before committing to development.

  1. 01

    Define the user journey.

Identify who the app serves, the task at its center, and what a useful first release includes.

  2. 02

    Choose the platform and scope.

Assess iOS and Android needs, native or cross-platform tradeoffs, backend systems, and the investment.

  3. 03

    Build and test on devices.

Review real screens and workflows, test the agreed devices, and consider permissions, network behavior, and accessibility.

  4. 04

    Prepare for release and support.

Agree on developer accounts, store submission, review requirements, deployment, and ownership of updates after launch.

EXPERIENCE BEHIND THE OFFER

Built across web and mobile.

Connected products need careful decisions between the mobile experience and the systems supporting it.

Examples from previous employment and freelance roles. Each describes my contribution within the team.

Operation 36 Golf

As lead developer, worked across the web application, a Swift iOS app with contractor support, the live dashboard, and database.

React Native experience

Agency work included React Native projects. At Brushfire, my work spanned React Native, React, TypeScript, and backend services.

PLAN THE INVESTMENT

Define version one. Price the real requirements.

Target platforms, device features, backend complexity, and release responsibilities shape a mobile proposal. We agree on those details before building.

Mobile application investment

Scoped to your app

The $7,500–$15,000+ MVP range is a general first-release planning guide. Mobile apps are quoted individually and can require a larger investment.

PRACTICAL QUESTIONS

Before we begin.

Should I start with a mobile app or a web app?

A web app can be a practical starting point when browser access meets the need. Mobile is worth considering when phone-specific features, notifications, or use on the move are central. We compare the actual user journey before choosing.

Can the app support both iOS and Android?

We can evaluate a cross-platform approach such as React Native. Sharing a codebase can reduce duplicated work, but each platform still needs testing and release preparation. Your proposal identifies the devices and platforms included.

What is involved in an app-store release?

The scope identifies developer-account ownership, submission assets, privacy information, testing, and who handles the submission. Apple and Google review applications against their requirements; release planning accounts for that review and any follow-up.

Can we start with an MVP?

Yes. We identify the smallest useful experience for the intended users and separate it from later features. An MVP still needs an appropriate foundation, workflow testing, and a plan for what happens after release.

What happens after launch?

We define the handoff and any continuing support in your proposal. Platform updates, backend operations, bug fixes, and new features need an ongoing owner, whether that is your team or a separately agreed support engagement.
